I have had a few careers and a lot of jobs, art and photography is never work.
One has many ways to create art. I am attracted to images that urge you to ask; what happened, where are the other photos in the sequence, who is that in the picture. My father loved to "show and tell" stories that became an indelible lesson. I rarely have the patience to sit still for long overnight exposures of still life. If you ask that I stay awake all night and stare at the summer night sky. My answer is almost always yes. Ask me to walk the streets of NYC, Santa Monica, Miami, or New Orleans and you will find me shedding tears of joy, packing my camera bag.
I grew up with so little in the way of camera equipment. My earliest art memories are doodling on huge used sheets of 11x17 dot-matrix printer paper. My father would rescue reams of discarded paper from his office and store them in my playroom. I learned to sharpen a pencil with a boxcutter before I could consistently spell Mississippi and my baby sisters first name.
My teacher "GRIZ"was the one who took the time to show and tell how a camera works. A few short lessons later my guide led me to a life long love,
My name is Dee. I take pictures of whatever, you, your mother, the wedding, sporting events, concerts, and anything occurring in the universe. Don't leave me alone with your camera; I will fill your memory, before you return to stop me.
